Privacy Policy

Short version

This website does not ask you for anything. There are no forms, no logins, no newsletter, and no self-assessment quizzes. You can read every page here without telling us who you are.

The longer version is below, because “we take your privacy seriously” is what every website says — and it means nothing.

What we do not collect

This is deliberate. On a mental health website, the fact that a particular person read a particular page is itself sensitive. The most reliable way to protect that is not to hold it.

No Name, Email or Phone Number

There is nowhere on this site to enter your name, email address, or phone number.

No Contact Form

There is no contact form, callback request, or appointment booking form.

No Account or Login

You do not need to create an account or log in to access any content.

No Newsletter or Mailing List

We do not collect email addresses for newsletters or promotional mailing lists.

No Health Questionnaires

There are no health questionnaires, symptom checkers, or self-assessment scores.

No Chatbot

There is no chatbot collecting or processing conversations.

No Payment Information

This website does not collect payment or financial information.

What is collected automatically

Like most websites, this one uses Google Analytics to understand how it is being used. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.

What that produces is statistical:

We use this for one thing: finding out which explanations work and which fail. If a page loses everybody halfway down, it is badly written and needs rewriting. That is the whole purpose.

We do not know who you are, and we do not attempt to find out. We do not build profiles of visitors, we do not track anyone across other websites, and none of this is sold or shared.

If you would rather not be counted at all, your browser’s tracking protection or a private window will handle it, and nothing here will stop working.

Cookies

Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics. No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no social media trackers.

Block or delete them through your browser at any time. Nothing on this site depends on them.

Things This Site Does Not Do

No advertising

No ads, no sponsored placements, no affiliate links. Nobody pays for a mention here.

No retargeting

Reading a page about depression here will not follow you around the internet as an advertisement.

No data sales

There is nothing to sell, and it would not be sold if there were.

No social media pixels

Facebook and other platforms are not told which of their users read this site.

No session recording

Nobody replays what you did on a page

Links to other websites

Some pages link out — to government helplines, to legislation, to published research. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else’s website under their privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect.

Helpline numbers listed here belong to the organisations running them. What those services record about a call is governed by their own policies. Call anyway.

Clinical records are a separate matter entirely

This page is about the website only.

If you are a patient at NIMS Multispecialty Hospital, your clinical records are held under medical confidentiality obligations, including those under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017. They are not connected to this website, not stored online here, and nothing you read on this site is recorded against your name.

Reading a page here does not create any record of you as a patient

Children

This site is written for adults. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone of any age, because it does not collect identifying information at all.

If this changes

We may eventually add something that needs personal information — an appointment request, for instance. If that happens, this page will be rewritten before the feature goes live, not afterwards, and it will say plainly what is collected and why. Anything of that kind will be built to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules under it. Until then, this page describes the site accurately: it asks you for nothing.
